Lindsay Kirby

Lindsay Kirby

Lindsay is a designer who has many years of experience working within the Greeting card Industry. She has worked in-house for well known card companies such as Hallmark cards, Uk Greetings and Card Factory and has recently set up on her own as a freelance illustrator.

Originally trained as a textile designer, Lindsay has a wide and varied portfolio, having designed initially for Textile agents when first leaving college, and later expanding into the world of cards. She likes to use many different ways of working….incorporating drawing, painting, stitching and collage etc in combination with digital processes to create her designs.

She has a diverse selection of styles including contemporary, niche, humour, classic and traditional and is inspired by everything and anything, but has a particular passion for the natural world, gardening, flowers, birds and folk art alongside a dafter side that likes to produce funny and slightly off beat humour cards too, based on every day situations and quirky topics. She also loves drawing and painting by hand purely for pleasure.

Lindsay is currently based in West Yorkshire near the Pennine region and loves to get out in nature and visit local areas with friends (especially if there is a cafe with tea and cake involved !) There is a wealth of artistic culture and beauty on her doorstep for inspiration, with Galleries and picturesque places such as Saltaire, Hebden Bridge, Haworth, and the Piece Hall in Halifax to name a few. She also loves and regularly visits the beautiful Yorkshire coastline.

You may even spot a seagull or two and a bag of chips in her work !
