Karen Tye Bentley

Karen is a successful, versatile designer who started off her working life as a Designer then Group Design Manager for a multinational ceramics company, after which she went on to concentrate mainly on the Greetings market as a freelance artist, having the freedom to design for different companies and products world wide.

She enjoys working to customer specific briefs, but relishes the times when she can work on speculative designs and have a play with new ideas, working initially by hand then layering digitally to create final images.

Among the many varied clients she has collaborated with are Whistlefish, Artfile, Flamingo Paperie, From You to Me (winning a gold medal award for her first picture book), Farmhouse Biscuits, Bothy Threads, and Portmeirion.

Karen works from her home studio in Newcastle under Lyme where she lives with her husband, two daughters and her ever faithful black labrador Charlie with whom she escapes for regular walks.
