Lisa Deighan

Lisa is an artist, illustrator & designer living in a picturesque village in Northamptonshire. She has worked as a print designer for many years in-house and freelance in the gift industry, making beautiful designs for stationery, greeting cards, gift wrap and home furnishings.

Her ideas stem from drawing weird and wonderful flowers & plants and she is also inspired by vintage fabrics, teacups and quirky 1970s kids’ book illustrations. Lisa graduated with a BA(Hons) Degree in Illustration at Maidstone Art College. Followed by post graduate work at the Cyprus School of Art, Paphos. Living the dream - making batiks in the sun!

She is a member of and exhibits regularly with Northants & Rutland Open Studios and The Batik Guild. Showcasing her unique contemporary style of “Batik Silk Painting” - a wax resist method using jewel toned inks and melted wax on silk.

Career highlights include creating Winnie-the-Pooh batiks for art cards, Christmas cards and stationery range seen in The Disney Store. Appearing in recent Uppercase magazines with her short piece on “Intuitive Art”. She also secured the cover design for the 6th Upppercase Surface Pattern Design Guide. Inclusion in Bowie Style‘s Print & Pattern Geometric book. Creating bespoke art & design for BBC One’s “Sort your life out” show. Her work has appeared in may high street stores including Laura Ashley, Boots, Tesco, WHS and Primark.

She’s also proud to be the niece of portrait artist Peter Deighan. Who made her believe she could be an artist when she grew up… Lisa is currently working on a new range of batik silk painted designs that would translate beautifully onto cards, stationery, kitchenware, and soft furnishings.
