Lauren Asad is a freelance surface pattern and greetings card designer based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Her creative journey began in fine art, where her storytelling paintings explored themes of resilience and her own life experiences. This work earned several awards, commissions from international artist Fabian Perez, exhibiting work for the Royal College of Art, and coverage by the BBC.

Lauren began her career with an internship before working as a woman’s wear print designer for Amanda Kelly. She has since joined the creative Sparrow family and developed a versatile style across textiles, surface pattern and greetings cards.

Lauren creates warm, timeless collections inspired by everyday life, storytelling and seasonal themes. Combining traditional and digital techniques, she produces designs that evoke emotion and create meaningful connections.

Outside of design, Lauren enjoys exploring new hobbies even if they don’t usually stick! Spending time with her partner, family, friends and her gecko, Kahlo. She also works at a pottery painting studio, where she loves encouraging children to express their creativity.
