Julia is a coffee fuelled, dog loving and surf obsessed graphic designer, illustrator and pattern designer based on the beautiful Surf Coast in Victoria, Australia.

She is originally from Hamburg, Germany where she finished a degree in communication design in 2006 before travelling and eventually moving to Australia.

Her background is in advertising but for the last 8 years she has been working as a freelance designer across a variety of projects, from book design, illustrations, branding, print design, animations and more. Over the past few years she has developed a strong passion for pattern design and illustration. She loves experimenting with different styles and techniques and while most of her work is done digitally, it usually starts with some sketches, watercolour painting or photos of textures she finds when out for a walk in nature.

Her work is inspired by her surroundings, especially the ocean at her doorstep. When she’s not designing or illustrating, she can be found surfing her longboard or going for walks with her partner and Mini Border Collie Zozo.
